Maria Shriver has opened up about her “brutal” divorce from Arnold ?Schwarzenegger.
Shriver was married to the actor and former Governor of California? from 1989 to 2021.
She filed for divorce in 2011.
In an excerpt from her new poetry ebook, I Am Maria, obtained by Individuals, Shriver stated the tip of her 25-year marriage was a “devastating, life-altering blow”.

“My twenty-five-year-long marriage blew up. It broke my coronary heart, it broke my spirit, it broke what was left of me,” she wrote.
Shriver defined how her marriage was one other hit after shedding each her mother and father and ending up her eight years because the First Girl of California?.

“With out my marriage, my mother and father, a job – the dam of my lifelong capital-D Denial simply blew aside,” she admitted.
The star stated she was “consumed with grief and wracked with ?confusion, anger, worry, unhappiness, and anxiousness.”

“I used to be uncertain now of who I used to be, the place I belonged. Truthfully, it was brutal, and I used to be terrified.”
The previous couple share 4 youngsters ?collectively: sons Patrick and Christopher, and daughters Katherine and Christina.

Shriver acknowledged her youngsters’s “grace, valor, and braveness my youngsters” amid their mother and father’ divorce. ?
“We’re persevering with to mum or dad our 4 youngsters collectively. They’re the sunshine and heart of each of our lives,” Shriver and Schwarzenegger wrote in a joint assertion on the time.
