ZZ High drummer Frank Beard has briefly stepped away from the band’s present tour with a view to deal with an unspecified well being situation.

The band’s administration revealed the information in a Saturday afternoon assertion, explaining that longtime tech staff member (and, importantly, “fellow Texan”) John Douglas will fill in for Beard till his return, and that Beard was “wanting ahead to a speedy restoration.”
Douglas beforehand performed with ZZ High after Beard underwent an emergency appendectomy through the band’s 2002 European tour.
In accordance with SetList.fm, Beard was not current on the band’s most up-to-date live performance, which happened Friday evening at Florida’s St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
ZZ High’s present lineup contains singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons and bass participant Elwood Francis, who took over for the late Dusty Hill in 2021.
