This week’s retro trailer is for the 1963 Mario Bava-directed movie Black Sabbath. That is considered one of my favourite horror movies and when you’ve by no means watched it, you need to test it out!
That is an anthology horror movie composed of three distinct tales, every exploring completely different elements of concern and the supernatural. I really like the terrifying visuals that this film delivers.
The primary story, “The Phone,” follows a girl named Rosy who receives a collection of threatening telephone calls from a mysterious stalker, resulting in a tense psychological thriller.
The second phase, “The Wurdulak,” is a Gothic horror story a few nobleman who encounters a household haunted by the legend of the Wurdulak, a vampiric creature that preys on its family members.
This story, set in a bleak, rural panorama, stars Boris Karloff who offers a chilling efficiency because the patriarch who could also be turning right into a Wurdulak himself.
The ultimate story, “The Drop of Water,” is a supernatural horror phase, specializing in a nurse who steals a hoop from the corpse of a useless medium, solely to be plagued by the vengeful spirit of the deceased. The story culminates in a nightmarish conclusion.
Black Sabbath blends psychological stress, gothic horror, and supernatural terror, with every story evoking completely different types of concern.
The movie is famend for Bava’s masterful use of shade and shadow, in addition to its affect on later anthology horror movies.
