The Compton Rapper went for blood and sent direct shots to Drake on “Euphoria”
After three long weeks of Drake taunting and trolling, even with the assistance of AI, Kdot has finally stepped back into the ring and went for blood. Some of the ‘blood’ is recycled sentiments about the Canadian rapper, however, Kendrick’s bars and delivery have given him an ultimate advantage in this battle.
Before you choose your side, let’s get into a breakdown of three shots you may have missed on Kendrick’s diss track, “Euphoria”:
Drake has an obsession with underage Girls:
It’s all in the title. Kendrick hinted at the title’s meaning by using the definition of euphoria, feelings of well-being and happiness, as the cover art. But I’m afraid the meaning doesn’t stop there. Euphoria, the teen-drama show executive produced by Drake, has faced criticism for its alleged exploitation of teens and glamorization of drug use. Over the years, Drake’s reputation with teens has been severely questioned and Kendrick indirectly exposed that :
We hate the b*tches you f*ck, ’cause they confuse themselves with real women
With this line, Kendrick could be referencing Drake’s love of adult entertainers and Instagram models, or he could also be referencing the rumors of Drake alleged relationships with underage girls, implying they cannot be “real women.”
Drake wants to be accepted by black culture
The phrase, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” rings true for Kendrick as he used the interview of DMX expressing hate for Drake as inspiration for his chorus :
I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk
I hate the way that you dress
DMX apologized for his comments, after Drake reached out for permission to use his song, and he accepted Drake’s outreach as a sign of maturity, but one might wonder: was Drake seeking acceptance?
Kendrick’s lyrics add to his overall claim that the culture is not feeling Drake and Drake will not stop until he’s accepted.
Drake is in competition with women
Kendrick flat-out stated that Drake is in competition with women.
I believe you don’t like women, that’s real competition, you might pop a$s with ’em
I mean, this is a recycled sentiment, but Kendrick may have timed it perfectly.
Drake, once, mocked Megan Thee Stallion for being shot and publicly expressed support for Tory Lanez, despite their beef history. If what Kendrick says is true, then Drake’s deep-rooted competitiveness with women (Megan Thee Stallion) made him closer to his enemy.
Kendrick’s statement that Drake doesn’t like women could stem from Drake being unmarried. However, this becomes more questionable given Drake’s habit of mentioning his enemies’ wives in conflicts, such as Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Kanye West, and A$AP Rocky.
Alright, so Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Euphoria” isn’t just about who’s dissing who; it’s like a mirror reflecting what’s really going on in the industry. And let’s be real, this “Euphoria” track is stirring up some serious buzz that’s gonna keep us talking for a minute. Whether this whole thing between Kendrick and Drake is just getting started or it’s a one-time thing, you can bet that “Euphoria” is gonna leave its mark on hip-hop history.
