On Wednesday, Ashanti,43, exclusively revealed her pregnancy in an intagram video with Essence Magazine.
Rumors of her being pregnant have been circulating for a while. Some fans seem to have conflicting feelings about the idea of her having a child without having a ring on her finger.
Well, ashanti, the Grammy-winning singer and Actress, took to Essence magazine to break the news that she is, in fact, engaged to the multi-platinum Rapper.
“Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.”
The couple also told Essence they are co-founders of Proov, A diagnostics company specializing in at-home tests for couples trying to conceive. Proov was also featured in Ashanti’s announcement video.
Nevertheless, Millenial fans are overjoyed and reliviing their childhood Nostalgia with this rekindled relationship.
Ashanti’s and Nelly’s Relationship Timeline
The two first linked up in 2003 and were a beloved couple throughout the 2000s. although they were masking their relationship as a friendship, their chemistry was undeniable.
They attended high-profile events and even collaborated on songs like “Body on me” and posed as chameos in music videos like Ashanti’s hit, “Good good”
After about a decade together, in an interview in 2015 , Ashanti confirmed that the two had broken up.
Nelly , then, pursued a very public relationship with Shantel Jackson, former ex of floyd mayweather, for seven years before they called it quits in 2021 due to their busy work schedules. Ms. Jackson opened up about her breakup from the ‘Ride with me’ rapper, and revealed she had hope hope to rekindle their relationship:
“A break, split, but I feel like it’s important that we take the time to just do it. Personally, I feel like it’s important for me because if our relationship is gonna come back, it’s gonna come back”
This may not be the case anymore for Shantel as Ashanti and Nelly have reunited and have been breaking the internet ever since.
Ashanti caused an uproar on the internet when she purchased a dream car for nelly. Most fans rejoiced but one blogger, Tasha k, known for losing the Defamation lawsuit to, rapper, Cardi b, had some harsh words for Ashanti:
“Relationships like this, they do all this sh*t when they’re boyfriend and girlfriend … when they get married … a year later we filing for divorce “
Tasha k also had doubts that Nelly would even consider marriage with Ashanti and,as of today, she is proven wrong!
this new arrival will be the first baby for Ashanti and the third (biologically) for Nelly.
